THE DIPTYCH

Phaedra & The Bridges of Madison County

Two autonomous works, one artistic project exploring desire, choice and the irreversible.

FRANCE · IN FRENCH

Phaedra

A dramatic poem by Yánnis Rítsos, in the French text by Gérard Pierrat. Phaedra speaks to Hippolytus while summoning herself to account: myth returns to the scale of a private incident as speech moves between lucidity and hallucination.

The staging seeks a theatre of sand, both domestic and mental, where bodies, light, image, sound and music make the poem’s air almost visible.
